I’m trying to independently study SEO to promote my site, because agencies take quite expensive, given that promotion must be constantly

Well, since I have an MBA in internet marketing I guess I'll put in my 2 cents. Yes, Google business page is a must. Verifying your business with Google a must. Posting on your Google business listing on a regular another must. Google also owns YouTube so make vids even if they are short and make sure to place your web address in the video about segment. Back links on associated sites and forums that have to do with your industry a must. Content with your key words smattered here and there along with a bi monthly or monthly blog post also a must. So, that's my thoughts!

One quick suggestion, you should change your text color for the 1st paragraph:
https://1drv.ms/i/s!AhNpNyoldwc9m9kTH6o54PZzdyHx6w Very hard to read :( White like the rest would be fine, use bold and/or italics if you want it to stand out. Just my .02 - cheers mate.

Carpet Bob,
I have been working on my site for my new business launch. I live in an area with 600k population. What do you think I should budget for jobs per week if I get on the first page of Google? https://steamaticofsal.com/

Great advice Carpet Bob, I'd add:
► MOBILE FRIENDLY WEBSITE People are not patient, if a potential customer goes onto your website using their mobile or tablet and can’t navigate around it, they’ll just hop straight off and go onto a competitor’s site. Google penalises non-mobile friendly site, so if your site is not compatible with mobiles, you have got less chance of ranking well on Google. ► CLICK TO CALL BUTTON A click to call button is a button that makes it super easy for your customers to call your business. The button should appear on mobiles and be easily accessible. When a customer clicks on this button it will ring straight through to your office. A lot of websites display their phone number but have it simply written out as a text. The problem with displaying the phone number in text form is that if a customer is searching for you on a mobile, they would have to memorise your number so they could type into their phone. Or, worse yet, they would have to scribble it down on a piece of paper to enter the number and call you. Don’t make people go to these efforts, it should be as easy as possible for them to call you. ► SITEMAP A sitemap is like a table of contents for your website and it’s so important because Google’s little robots crawl your website and decide where they should rank on Google, if they see that you have a sitemap, the Google bots can read this easier and as a result, are more likely to rank your website higher on Google. So a sitemap is to tell them, what your website is about and when they know, they can start ranking you for the appropriate search terms. After you have created a sitemap, you need to submit it to Google Search Console, this tells Google that you want your website to be crawled by the little Google bots, and want to start ranking better on Google. If you have a WordPress website, you can download the plugin called ‘Yoast’. This plugin can create a sitemap easily for you, taking away all the hard work. Hope they help!

Fellow carpet cleaners, if you're not at the top of Google in your local area, you're missing out on a lot of cash.
We redid a 6 year old site - http://www.albanyorganics.com/ - www.elkhartcarpetcare.com - and hit the #1 spot in Google's organic search in 3 weeks. Here's how you can get to the top spot in your area: 1. https://www.google.com/business/ - List your business in Google. It's free. 2. List yourself in category of "carpet cleaner." 3. Load up the profile with everything. When you're writing the business introduction and description, make sure you've got the keywords people are searching for. 4. Put in lots of pictures. And, make sure to name each picture with a title that has keywords in it. For example: http://www.elkhartcarpetcare.com - carpet cleaning Elkhart, IN http://www.elkhartcarpetcare.com - 5. I've barely started this so far, but do what you can to get some reviews from previous clients. I managed to get the #1 spot without this, so it's possible, but having them would definitely help people considering tree services take yours over a competitor. 6. Add more content to your site. ***This is just a guess based on what I've seen in my area*** Most of the companies had sites with very little content/text. Google is looking for keywords on your site, so if there's not a lot of content, there probably won't be that many keywords either. Instead of using bullet points to list what you do, explain it a bit. 7. I have to say, I hate this one, but it's essential - order citations. Citations are you name, address, and phone number on the web. Ideally, you would want it all over the Internet so people would find you more easily. It boosts your credibility in the eyes of the consumer and Google. Big ones are things like Facebook, Yelp, and Bing. This takes forever to sit down and do one by one, but it is WORTH IT. Done. Ever since we did this, the phone has not stopped ringing. That front page is no joke. This is the difference: We were originally forking over $3,000/month for Google Ads. Since we're now sitting at the top spot in the organic results, we're getting nearly the same number of calls, but IT's FREE. Everything I've learned about all of this came from my SEO guy. He said that he would "bring the rain" and he was not joking. Our rank continues to improve each week, and we anticipate taking the top spot in the map section too very soon. That's enough from me. Try it out! - it can seriously blow up your bottom line. We don't ever take small jobs any more because this has allowed us to be way more choosy. If you have any questions or anything, feel free to comment in the thread. |
