The disadvantage is 1 jet has to fan out to cover 12" of width on the wand. The water gets very cool as a result of that.

The benefit is you dont have that overlay where 2 or more jet sprays intersect and cause a wetter area line in the carpet from more pressure than the spray itself.

There is no benefit IMO. Only advantage is that wand will usually cost less to buy.

I was wondering what the benifet(s) are of using a single jet wand? I use a dual jet and am satisfied - doesn't seem to over wet. I have a rotovac DHX that lays down a lot of water because it has six jets. 

I just cant see the purpose in a single jet wand...
