I now do both rotovac and bonnet. With the rotovac I have the cross american vac booster on a 25' hose hookup to a mytee 1001h with a shazaam vac booster and 100' of hose going from the cross american to my rotovac. My site tube lets me know when the carpet is as dry and it can be made after a couple of slow passes. When I leave the consumers house the carpet is nearly dry.

Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

I agree with keeping the same jets and adjusting the amount of flow with the ball valve, smaller jets do clog easier....
When I do decide that the job calls for the RV....I plan on post dry passes with the wand....does'nt take long and the customer Loves it.
Hope this helps!

You could try using a garden hose with a high pressure nozzle down the extraction tube and run it also through the hose. Have you checked the hose for cracks? If everything checks out pour a bottle of water on your a flat concrete surface and see if a running rotovac is as good as the hose alone.
If both the hose and rotovac check out, then it is possibly your method and since I am not there to see what you do and how you do it, I can't realistically offer any advice. I will say I did use the rotovac for about 5 years but switched to a bonnet system which both I and my customers prefer. I think the rotovac is a system that sells itself and is good for business. Ninja makes good portable solutions. If this is a young extractor the vac motors should not be a problem. The older a vac motor gets the less power it has I have found. |

Roto-vacs and RX-20's are always going to put a lot more moisture into the carpet. It will be difficult to get adequate vacuum from a portable to run a rotary machine. Like the last post I'd recommend extra dry passes or stick with a wand when possible and just use the Roto-vac on heavily soiled carpet.

Are you doing a lot of drying passes? Glides should help. You could also get a buffer and do a post-bonnet. The carpet will be drier, cleaner, and much safer from wick back.

it shouldn't matter how much water you are putting down, it should recover the same amount no matter what right? i am using 1.50 jets i believe, and have the water pressure all the way up on the porty, but i control the amount if water i am putting down with the ball valve on the rotovac. i have tried smaller jets but they tend to plug up alot easier, so i don't want to change my jets.

hey guys, i am still having problems with my rotovac overwetting. i guess it may not be overwetting its more of the water recovery. i am using a nija warrior porty with 25ft of hose. but there is not much suction coming from the rotovac. when i am done and run my hands on the carpet my hand is shinny wet. this is too wet right?? is my porty not powerful enough or is it the rotovac? i think the porty runs dual stage parallel motors. should be enough right?
