I was lucky enough to have a small client base with natural stone (carpet cleaning being #1) that I educated myself and had the support of two large chemical companies that helped me develope a system to restore and maintain them. Some was great some was ok. I did it for 5 years. Should have stayed with it. Too busy cleaning other things.
I have always loved the look of stone. So much I had it installed in my house.
I haven't done stone work in 6 years!

Once again I suggest you do some more research
How To Clean MarbleCleaning marble is hard work, there is no doubt. If you have made the investment in using marble on your flooring, your countertops or in your bathroom, you need to know how to clean it and clean it so thoroughly that it looks like it is brand new. Sometimes we find scuff marks on it. Other times it is the things that spill onto the surface. While each case is its own creature, cleaning marble can be done effectively. Here, we will take a look at some of the ways in which we can clean up this beautiful investment we have made in our homes. The first and foremost tip I have for you is to NEVER, EVER use vinegar or other acid based products on your marble floors. Marble is very delicate and must be cleaned with pH neutral, gentle cleaners. Acids, even the mild acid in vinegar will actually dissolve the finish and permanently etch the surface. Also mild gentle cleaning products are required. Always use a neutral pH cleaning product. Since you don't know how to identify stone or tile you will find out the hard way. |

Sorry I didnt respond right away, It was a friday night, I was out on a date, you know, with a girl....
Also, I have forgotten how easy it was to insult someone while sitting behind there computer screens hundreds of miles away
I am no hack, many people I have met in this industry make there own chemicals, the man i got this idea from makes all of his own chemicals. Purple power, you may laugh, it just an acid based degreaser, and to clean tile, ive been told that you need an acid cleaner, and since most of the stuff I found on the groud is some form of grease, I think it works just fine.
One last point, to put the "small savings into perspective" I didnt get into this business because I love being the cleaner, I did because of the money, and thats all i am focused on. Would you agree that I might save about $10 dollars a job on cleaner, since you said you spend about .10 a square foot, and I spend about .5?
Let me put that into prespective..
I do about 100 tile jobs a year, and that savings would be $1000 dollars.
Lets just say I continue that savings per year in cleaner, over 40 years, I am 25, and I plan on retiring at about 65. And I invest, which I do, heavly in High yeilding dividend stocks, yeilding about an 8% return each year. lets do the math....
hey wow, thats $301,505 bucks...
Well we all know america wont be around for 40 more years, but its nice to hope
You keep your cleaner, Ill keep mine, and we can agree to disagree
