if you're gonna look at a Mytee,,,,,,,,,,,,LOOK AT THE M-5 IT KICKS A$$ 15 or 16 gal. tanks I can't remember,,,,,,,I almost always use auto fill auto dump and the vac is more than adequate for a porty nothing against Ed's machine though,,,I have a close friend in Vancouver that has one and he is quite pleased with his . I actually like being a P.O.G.,,,,I'm getting my old customers back from when I had a TM and they just don't care what I use and if they do,,,,,,,,,,,they don't anymore after doing the same quality work with a porty with the same dry times
I also recommend the Mytee hotbox inline heater,,,,,,keeps the water nice and toasty.
If you wanna do LOOOONNNNG hose runs off a porty get one of Ed's boosters.
personally I just roll the machine closer.
I don't like losing vac,,,,,,,,,but @100ft. the M-5 does a great job only drawback I find is it's pretty friggin heavy

Oh yeah, one more detail about this nasty 1003/1005 machine: The release valve is not the farthest point out on the machine. The large wheels on the back of the machine actually stick out 2 or 3 inches farther than the release valve's spout.
So, as you can guess, if you back the thing up to a ground-level sink (the most common type in the US), you end up dumping a lot of water on the ground in front of the sink. Duh! Edited by FriendlyHammer - 26/February/2009 at 8:59am |

Nah, stick your hand down into the tank and put your finger over the outlet. Water is always coming out of it. You either run your pump at top pressure and haven't noticed it because it is small, or you haven't ever run your pump at lower pressures on a job and seen it flood the tank. i have a 1003dx. the solution only flows to the recovery tank when the prime lever is pressed. the pressure regulator circulates usused pressure back in the solution tank. |

I thank FriendlyHammer for his insightful comments and truth.
There are a world of differences between both systems. Just like the difference between Carpet Cleaning prices of $4.95 per room, or $24.95 per room. More customers may be sold on "price" rather than those sold on "the right reasons" & results.
I am here at the Plant until 3pm (MI time zone), and am willing to help answer any and all questions you may have because I realize thru experience myself (back in '71) that one does not want to make a mistake at this point.
Anyways,
Happy Holidays and I hope to hear from you!
