These mod acrylic rugs that imitate the old indian rugs are tough to get clean. After the initial extraction we shampoo the whites with a shampoo and an oxy additive and minimal water. Extract with no water. Beautiful

possibly; as long as there is still air flow (e.g. a mesh bed). They are generally very dense pile rugs and with the moisture having to travel upwards and at a somewhat slow rate, conditions could become rather nice for mould growth... not to mention that the surface it is put onto must be scrupulously clean or any dirt will transfer very nicely!

Just turn the rug over and let it dry face down the jute will wick back into itself and not to the surface of the rug?? sound simple enough?

or you can reverse the procedure John L just suggested, that's where I've had my best results, HWE extract first and then encapsulate after, two things happen this way.
First up gives you your deeper clean with HWE, then with encap you can apply with a sprayer then run over with your bonnet cleaning machine. With rug already wet, the encap juice will draw down into the rug more effectively, then the bonnet will draw out a lot of moisture. Encap needs 24 hrs to do it's job properly so is best left in the carpet rather than extracted and is great for preventing that "brown-out" caused by excessive moisture that not even the world's most powerful truckmount will draw out of jute! Try it out, especially on horribly trashed carpets, jobs you thought were pull-up and replace can be effectively restored this way |

Probably a Monsanto Orlon brand.. Rotary or OP is best here for the low moisture.. Then you can clear water rinse with low psi and i hope you have a TM or powerful portable with a Cross-American BOOSTER
![]() These Acrylics have jute backing and all the prespray and rinsing went right to the backing breaking down the jute dyes and leaving it overwet.. This caused the yellowish dye in the jute to wickup and now you see a yellowish color..

Crank up the pH. Acrylic can take it. Do some extra dry passes. Speed dry with a fan

Hi all,
Is it just me or do others have problems getting acrylic rugs clean? Firstly they absorb a sh*t load of water and then when they do dry I'm never really happy with the results. Any advice welcome. |
