I found here the problem with radio is weather you actually cover the brodcast area. I guess the same would hold true for TV unless you are a franchise

Direct mail and word of mouth for residential. Sometimes a well designed flier will get you a decent return

Only people advertising on the radio in my city are Coit, Stanley Steemer, and Zerorez. Every now and then, Stanley does a tv commercial. Independents? Never. Door-hangers got us started, and Letip and some online sources have kept things going. Word-of-mouth has been better than anything.
