Different carpet materials call for different solutions. Just because your neighbor took care of
carpet cleaning by himself, doesn't mean the same thing will
work for you. Carpet is made from a variety of materials such as wool,
acrylic, polyester and more, even if you know what the carpet is made of, you still have to be
extremely careful with various cleaning solutions if you don't know
what you're doing.

Couldn't live without scotch guard and especially teflon. Will definitely take a look at it! :-)

We didn't know that.
Gosh, anna, thanks for that knowledge. Now our businesses can do a much better job armed with the thorough understanding of carpet manufacturing you provided to us. Maybe we could teach you about marketing too. |

Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?

When carpeting is made, it has two protective properties. One is a "dye blocker" or 11stain resist" property. This is simply a clear dye that fills in the empty dye sites, so that it is difficult for a spill or spot to penetrate the fiber. The second is a "soil resistor" like 3M Scotchgard or Dupont Teflon. This product is sprayed on the yam and baked on at a high temperature. This helps to resist against common dry soil, and to act as a barrier between the spill and the dye blocker. After a period of about 2 to 3 years, depending on traffic, the soil resistor wears off and needs to be reapplied.

Scotchgard and Teflon is the most mis-used and misunderstood product that we as carpet cleaners use. And yet is the MOST PROFITABLE product that we have in our arsenal.
When a carpet cleaner says to me that he does not carry Scotchgard because no one asks for it he is showing is ignorance.
Customers will seldom ask. IT'S YOU THAT MUST ASK OR SUGGEST.
Try it, you will be surprised how your profit will jump.
P.S.
Kleen Kuip has a special on Chemspec Stainsheild selling for a *wopping 53% discount.
