Two trades that worked very well:

First one was the local sign shop whos carpets were in desperate need of a good cleaning.  I was shopping for vehicle lettering and immediately obliged when he offered the lettering in exchange.

Second was a burger joint with an outdoor carpeted patio; and I'll never figure out why.  And same as the sign guy, I got a month of free lunches because of the 'wow' factor.

Bartering can be a good thing when first starting out.

I recently cleaned a home for a customer, we were discussing items we collect, I mentioned that I collect wooden duck decoys, the lady brought out 3 old decoys that were her late husbands, she blew off the dust and asked me if I wanted to trade for the cleaning job, I accepted, I had the "Decoy Information Centre" estimate the value at several thousand $$.
Deal or No Deal, I think I made a very good Deal.. What good deals have You Made
