Learn Doug, there MAY be a better way, SURE we all have to move furniture SOMETIMES, but there are tactics that you can employ so you don't have to do it often.

Unfortunately the people in my area have furniture, wood floors or concrete and a roof. Apparently some of you must have an area where people do not furnish their homes. Do the have dirt floors and a grass roof, or are they made of ice??? And if they are made of ice would you use a tm??? |

We seldom move much furniture, however we have a small machine that can do under beds without having to move them. If the phone answerer handles the customer well, this issue can be greatly reduced. My wife is an expert at making them move all breakable and getting them to move most everything they want moved. We tell them to not bother with chairs and couches as they are easy to move. |

everything is relative. if you do an empty 1 bedroom apartment for 69.00, why would you do a fully furnished suite for the same price. adjust your prices according to the complexity of the job. if it takes you 1/2 hour to move replace and pad the furniture, add 30-60 dollars(whatever you figure your time is worth to the job. if i hire a plumber to fix a leaky pipe, he charges me extra for cutting into the drywall and then he doesn't put it back. same thing

Actually I've always used terry cloths on furniture.....it's kind of hard to do on the carpet...but for the most part it works.....still have to steam it though.... Ted can have an on line auction!!!!! |

Steamdragon be careful of your wording telling Stanley to get help padding. I already read where from time to time Stanley uses terry cloth toweling to absorb soil. Lets not get Pad Man too excited. He eventually will convert us all but lets make it more difficult for him. I know Ted still has a warehouse full of Ninja's to sell. |

I hate that term splash and dash........cleaning does not include the moving of furniture...what do the two have in common....give me a clear room I'll clean it...give me a clear house I'll do that...don't give me a house with cluter and expect me to move your shzit...

cleaning wall to wall carpet means just that clean it all,so what if it takes longer to do the job correctly since you charge enough to cover all the expenses, leave the half cleaning jobs to the splash and dash artists. do the best possiable work and the rewards in the end will be yours.you will have so many referrals that your sore back will come from carrying your money to the bank |
