A survey between the Carpetologist and his wife the Perfectionist.
Carpetologist So Dear, you heard all about it and decided to clean our carpet at home with the Orbitor pad cleaning system.
Perfectionist Yes, everyone at work has been talking about it on the KK discussion forums. I thought I would verify in my own mind. As you know I have always used steam extraction and Ecogent.
Carpetologist Well this may not be an absolute true test as you never really allow our carpets to ever get very dirty.
Perfectionist I know but the carpeting definitely needed more than a freshening up after this winter.
Carpetologist So let me ask you a few questions that may help our customers to understand the system better and help them make money. That is what it’s all about at Kleen Kuip you know.
Did you find the system was a strenuous as the steam clean water extraction?
Perfectionist No, definitely not.
Carpetologist Did you find that it took longer?
Perfectionist No, it took approximately 50% less time to clean.
Carpetologist How many times did you change the pad?
Perfectionist I only had two pads. The first pad I rinsed with water approximately 10 times during the entire job.
Carpetologist Did you soak the cleaning pad in Ecogent or did you spray the carpeting first?
Perfectionist I pre-sprayed first.
Carpetologist What did you use the second pad for?
Perfectionist I did the whole thing again with the dry pad. Don’t know why, it really did not seem to need it.
Carpetologist I noticed when I got home the carpeting was dry. Usually you have towels down especially in the entranceway to keep from slipping and soil tracking.
I always noticed diamond shapes in the carpet that I of course realize was caused by the wand marks.
Perfectionist That’s because the Orbiter left swirl marks that seem to disappear upon drying.
Carpetologist Ahh…and what about drying? How long did it actually take? As you know this is the question most frequently asked by customers. Seems like a major concern.

Carpetologist Did you vacuum first?

Carpetologist Are you totally satisfied visually?

Carpetologist Are you totally satisfied in your mind?
Perfectionist I think so.
Carpetologist You sound tongue tied and don’t want to comment on this question. Is it because you know too much about carpet cleaning?
Perfectionist Probably, as you know I have been an advocate of steam cleaning for many years.
Carpetologist If you did not have all this knowledge would you have paid the same amount of money to a professional for either services?
Perfectionist Yes, but I would have expected the steam guy to come back and remove the browning.
Carpetologist So think about this before you answer. It appears clean and soil free. Do you believe this deep down in your heart?
Perfectionist No, I did not get as much dirt into the pads as I know I would have if I extracted. Previous experience tells me this.
Carpetologist Forget you have all this previous knowledge. What method will you use next time?
Perfectionist I don’t want to think about this now as I want you to buy me new carpeting. I am tired of these colors.
Carpetologist Typical woman, after all this I never did get my answer.
