Jared; You certainly have a terrific background that you can use as a springboard to get your Professional Carpet Cleaning off the ground. After reading your post, another gentleman came to mind; mr. Tony McDonald (TX) whom has a similar background and is taking the right steps in building his business. You may want to phone him and talk about his suggestions; and why. You'll have a wonderful conversation. His number; 940-631-6350. Hope this helps.
And, Thanks, "Little Red Hood" for your very kind comments, above too. Good Fortune; Ed Valentine |

I run a cleaning service, where i clean commercial businesses and offices after business hours, I found that all of my clients were having the service done by a third party, so i mentioned my intent to perform these services (carpet and hard floors) and they were all happy to have one person do all of the janitorial services. That's how i got my current contracts. I don't do any residential advertising, only people who know i'm igetting in the business will be my customer base. One-Man show, only 25 hours in each day right? I have some helpers, but they work with me on larger contracts. |

advice greatly appreciated. Additionally, i have looked at some units
on http://www.cross-american.com/equip.htm, i was sent this link via
private message from this forum. it seems the units are priced very
fairly, any advice on these from people who have been in this industry?
I realize alot of you are in Canada, as i am here in the U.S., some
brands may be different, but the specifics are what i am mostly
interested in. I'll be cleaning the commercial offices i contract with
for routine cleaning services and some residential work. For the most
part, the carpeted areas i am cleaning will be residential and office
sized rooms. no huge banquet rooms or 300 foot hallways, not yet at
least.
I am also interested in finding out more about tile/grout cleaning equipment, i would love to buy something that catered to both tile and carpet, with seperate attachments of course. ALL help is appreciated. Jared |

Buy from your local distributor. You'll need friends when you start out. Distributors will offer a ton of free advice to customers. You see your best interests are their interests too. Plus they'll have the parts and can warranty your machine.

Olympus is made or marketed by Hydro Force. CFR is a company based in MN. I find most of their stuff overpriced. They do offer some unique technology though. |
