What about it
I am a big fan of Ecogent 2 works as a great rinse Cross american Attack (pre spray) netural Ph And if I need a boost all agent just add a little hydrogen peroxide to the pre spray mix. also amazing as it may be a little dwell time and pre scrub does wonders. I find many of the boosting agents will just about give me an asmtha attack some of the products your spraying on the carpet are very toxic add your high heat truck mount and all that not only goes into the air but atomized! that also goes for enzymes that are freely used. Some say they use natural enzymes but no safer. those enzymes can be reactavated in your sinus. Question what cleaning agents do you have a health problem with? Mine for one would Sodiummetabisulfide AKA Hation cotton cleaner or coffee red wine remover. Be very careful with this stuff you could put a customer in the hospital or yourself. N1 |

So very very true. The most common ingredient used by many is Butyl Cellusolve (which goes by many different names) CAS 111-76-2. This has a TLV (TWAEV) of 20PPM to the skin!! And we're cleaning carpets with it. I have spoken to a scientist at U of T who insists that most enzymes are extremely tough on the sinuses and thats the reason why its not a common ingredient in laundry detergents. The EU is introducing new laws regarding the use of enzymes.

I like to keep it neutral for the most part
but for nasties I'll use something not so "safe"
I've tried Ecogent and didn't get the greatest results........worked really good on wool and good enough on upholstery.
maybe I'll give it another try in the future
up until recently I was a huge user of Ultrachem but I've been leaning away from it because of some adverse reactions to some of my spotters, but of the neutral cleaners I've used it is the best performing for me.

Nordic You have made an excellent post. More and more people are becoming very aware of just the things you are talking about. Different people show different sensitivities to different products. For you it is sodium bisulphite, for others it is something else. It is generally accepted today that 15% of the North American population is chemically hypersensitive. Using 3rd party approved healthy products offer you a great marketing and sales advantage to meet this growing market. It is estimated that we have over 100,000 synthetic chemicals today and only a small percentage have ever been tested. ECOgent is certainly changing the way we think and i can also tell you that in a couple on months we will be upping the ante again Jim |

The one thing about product testing and this covers food and medicines is that they are only tested by themselves and not in combination with anything else. Aspirin may OK some wine may be OK but both.....never tested. May be more difficult to do but some combinations are pretty predictable. Same in our industry. Atomizing the air the the BIG SMOKE = a pack a day ????
