Carpetologist or anyone that has any experience-Someone spoke of a home built machine with a #5 brooks blower,  giant 10hp pumpt etc etc. Anyone know of any resources on this? Also just upgraded my porty and have an older one that needs more lift(dry times can take over 10 hours when humid). I am hoping to replace the vacuums(fairly certain the old ones are 2 stage) Any suggestions on how to go about it and what vacuums to purchase, will they fit etc etc? Thanks in advance!

Turtlepower,

I am not aware of the TM that you mentioned.

There are a few options to increase the suction power on your portable. I need to know the type before giving you advice. But, if you now have a 2 x 2 stage that should give you 150 inches of lift and that is sufficient.
