farleycarpet,
I know where you are coming from. Everyone must start somewhere but cheap advertising will bring you cheap customers. Cheap chemicals will give you expensive repairs. Cheap equipment will not satisfy your customers. This business is all about marketing and advertising. Most anyone can clean a carpet to satisfaction.
We wish you the best!
Most advertising is much too expensive for a small start-up business, usually flyers are your only source. When your not cleaning your should be handing out flyers. The other surefire way is to offer free demos. This is a lot of work but it will hit the target and it will only cost you sweat and little money.
Good Luck!
