It is hard for someone to critique someone elses pricing.  Different markets dictate different pricing.  You do not say what you charge for areas over 250 sq.ft. Going by your specials you are charging $0.12.sq.ft. Is that what you charge for extra cleaning. Additional area is that an extra room or is that hwat you charge for over 250 sq.ft.  I am not a fan of deceptive marketing.  Don't get me wrong If you are a room pricer fine. I am not a fan of that method of pricing, but in some areas it is the only way to do business, so I am told by people in areas like the GTA.  So if this works and you and only you will know if what you are charging is enough to make a profit. Make it happen?

If it is one big room over 250 sq ft I try to get .25 cents per square foot. The only time I will see that though will be a resturant. Mostly in NYC I am doing apartments and private homes that are basiclly apartments.

If i am doing a home and the two rooms measure out to be 300 sq ft combind I add on $24.99

tell me what you think doug.

Keep in mind I am in NYC

thank you

I find that pricing "per room" works best in most cases. It makes the math simpler for the customer. Of course...you want size limitations on the room ie 250 square feet. If it's a tad bit over that...bring it to the customers attention but don't charge them for it. They think your giving them something and in reality it's not costing you a thing to clean the extra 15 sqr ft or so. Prices in different areas vary but be competitive. Call around to other cleaners and see what they charge for the same type service. Check out other competitors advertisments. Average them out and then knock off %10. Most cleaners charge the moon anyway and you won't even notice the %10 difference in your bottom line. However...your customer will!

Also, get out of the habit of using the word "area" in your advertisement. ALWAYS follow the "KISS" method. (Keep It Simple Stupid.) Have a set price "per room" and leave it at that. Price per room depends on the area you live in but on average $20-25 a room will make you good money on that job. It makes it simple for the customer to figure out and provides you with the opportunity to offer additional services (protectant...yadda, yadda) which yield a much higher profit anyway. Works GREAT for me here in Indianapolis.
