Say you were doing the average condo in the GTA and you put down 5 gallons of water.

How much of it would you recover in your dirty tank?

Be honest now and no BS. Please give me your answer and tell me what equip you're using.

one of my associates is using a 100psi porty with a heater and he's only getting back 50% of what he put down. (i should point out that he's not so bright LOL) the port has 2 x 2 stage vacs.

The higher the flow rate, the greater the 5 recovery is going to be. The reason for that is because it takes a minimum amount of water to wet the fibers and carpet backing. After that minimum is reached, most of the rest is available for extraction, provided your machines vacuum ability is up to the task. That said, our 500 psi Ninja with 2 3 stage vacuums and 2 2 stage vacs runs 91 to 93% extraction depending on carpet type.
