Reading all your posts about TM's it makes me NOT want one. Some of you make it sound like you are working just to maintain the damn truck and put a little cash in your pocket.

Are any of you guys with one truck actually rich?

Face it, most of the talk is totally negative.

well if you don't service regularly it will cost you.... I run my slide-in...and not one red cent has been spent in the last 3 years for any type of repair.

the pto... is another story... it eats more than it makes

For what it's worth, I've been in the business for 23 years and run Butler
units a majority of those years. I have had less than 5 total down days in
that period and during those times I was always able to work with the
customer and reschedule. THe butler has a very easy machine to repair
but sofar it really isn't an issue. I use it everyday and go sometimes
several years without any repairs. If you ever have a chance to demo one
you will see they are designed to be absolutely user friendly and Top
notch components. It's proven itself!

I agree. Cleanco and Butler are the most reliable TMs you can buy . The Butler will cost you more to buy though, and have no service centers in Canada.

Ken, I live in North Dakota , along way from Ludlow, Mass. where they are
made. The Butler , If you are familiar with them has a machine whereby
the main components are all quick connected together. So if you have a
problem with a certain part you call the 800 number and talk to
knowledgeable people. get the part ordered on an overnight UPS blue
label and it is on my doorstep from Ludelow ( across the us overnight and
at my doorstep by 10 Am .) The part along with all parts involved up to
the next quickconnect come all put together so that all you have to do is
Quick connect the assemble and you are back running in less than fifteen
minutesh. Absolutely user friendly . I am not mechanical at all and the
Butler has been awesome .

That is great in the USA, Danmarck, but in Canada it is a different story. Here we have custom duties and brokerage charges that get added on to every piece of equipment coming in. Add the 130% exchange to that and the american price for a part can double or more in Cdn $ terms. It does not arrive here overnight usually either because of the same border. Delays are common. I know, cause I ship both ways over it all the time. Get a cleanco and avoid the costs and the downtime. In Canada, the service centers nearby to most cleaners in western and Central Canada means you often can be back on the road the same day.

If I were a USA cleaner, I would go with a Butler, cause the problems are not there to getting parts quickly or inexpensively. In Canada though, it's Cleanco!

I have used Pro Chem for a number of years and I must say that I have had very little down time on any of them...it all goes back to service...if you keep any truck-mount serviced, it will run and make you money

Kenny, are you nuts....Cleanco is far from being a reliable truckmount, anyway I don't want to dwell on that but if your truckmount is properly maintained and not abused by omitting oil levels, belts, grease, and just common sence maintenance that you presently do on your car, it should not be in a repair shop for more than 5 days every 3 to 5 years. If you own a pair of Vice Grips, screwdrivers, keys, and other common tools, there is nothing you can't take care of yourself, providing you didn't abuse the pump, blower, heat exchanger etc etc. It's a straight forward system........Water in .......Water out. Even a Cleanco works fine if taken care of, but most people don't, That's why Ted drives a Cadillac

I have had a couple of Pro Chem lemons and believe me Pro Chem could give a rats ass for you when this happens.  I run 405's don't ask me why except it has been one of the most dependable amchines I have owned so far.  They actually gave $2000 good will jesture. The people at PC's head office are a different bread. I dealt with them by email and sent their investigater all the emails and since they lied so much that was what the money was for. Even after the emails they still stuck to their stories.

Pro chem does NOT like to deal with people they consider "end users"...I had a few run-ins with them a few years back...I took exception with the term "end user" when they refered to me as that...I said "Customer" would be a better term...they don't like to even answer questons from people using their products...I'm just so glad that I have JonDon close by...otherwise, I'd be using some other brand...

Pro chem uses too many money costing hoses in their units.... I think they could have simplified it a little more

Bought a 1996 GMC Butler Unit last year, flew to Boston, to pick it up and
drove it across the country. It has been a year and 2 days and I have
changed Oil every 3-4 weeks and filled with alot of gas but not spent a
dime or a minute on repairs.

I really have had good Luck with these Units.
and I know it is not all Luck.

It is a well eingineered Unit for serious carpet cleaning.

Press the Button and go to work!
