 I'm currently using a 25' hose with my Mytee (200psi / 200 cfm vacuum) portable. What's the longest hose I can use to reach up stairs? Will a 50' or 75' hose be too long? What will I lose first, suction or clean pressure?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

That's way too long. You'll need a booster.  You can do dry passes, but it still won't be the same.

FriendlyHammer is correct.

"You'll need a booster".........or a.............POWER Booster.

Whats a power booster?
 Brett at Mytee in CA claims that up to 75' would be doable with a straight hose?

Steven;

The POWER Booster is a Cross-American innovation and was patented in 1980. It was the first "booster" in this industry; but continues to be very "unique" because of its history and field testing from 1972.

The word or term: "booster" is a generic label nowadays.

Hope this answers your question;

Ah, but will Mytee's lawyers draw up a guarantee saying that no appreciable reduction in results would occur going from 25 to 75 feet?  So they have actual test results from an independent laboratory that demonstrates these claims?  If not, sounds like a used car salesman trying to sell a car with a major oil leak as a car never needing an oil change.  Never trust anyone who stands to benefit financially from selling you something.  Hourly clerk only who don't care if the company makes bank or not have no alterier motives but you still must insist that all claims be put in writing and you want to review them before buying.

By the way, has anyone measured the actual vac power on a rotovac or any other rotary power head during operation?  Would it be X, X/2 or X/6 where X = standard wand vac?  Is that why rotovacs leave the carpet wetter than standard wands?  Just made me think of that when reading what Mytee will say about its units as if we are gullible enough to accept anything as fact.

good news is you can purchase an external inline heater.  And a vac booster can be purchased from Ed at cross-american.com.  Make due with 200psi until you can afford to purchase a second unit for carpet and tile/grout, keeping the one you have for furniture.  Nothing like branching out.

Straight or not, it will be the same.  Trust me, it's a really bad idea.  I run 75 - 150 foot hoses several weeks a year.

The longer the hose the lower the pressure. To minimize pressure loss use a single piece hose.
