I was doing just a pet stain on some fairly clean looking cream carpet and as soon as I pulled my wand across to extract the solution the carpet around the stain had become dirtier than before I started. What the heck happend??? Was it because my suction was too strong?

I doubt that your suction had anything to do with it.What procedure and chems did you use??? Step by Step Por favor.

The stain is in the pad.....like a bullet hole...goes in small but expands into the pad.....all you did was suck some of the crap back through the carpet.

a water claw would be helpful in this case

My truck mount was set 16hgs suction and psi was around 350 solution(which is chemspec all fiber textile rinse). I flooded the 3+ day old pet urine stain with an enzyms deoderizor chemical from a local dealer and let it sit for 15-20 mins like I was instructed to do. I then extracted the chemical using my wand which made the spot look white. After a once over I used the rinse to give it a more thorough clean and to even the white out. When I did that the clean carpet which is a cream color became extremely dirty like I was sucking dirt from beneath the second backing. I did that about 6-10 times and it just kept spreading everywhere the wand went. This was done @ 6pm and the next day around noon I went back and the spot looked worse than before not to mention the dirty surrounding where I used the wand. I even tried usung a harvard premium olefin prespray after noticing the carpet getting dirty. Used the wand with the rinse and still dirty carpet. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it (and so would my mom)

There was a existing stain in that area that you were trying to treat. Flooding it might of helped the urine contamination but it created the wicking for you. Either go back and use a waterclaw on the area or just pad clean the area if odor is not a problem.

I agree with Hammy

This is exactly the reason why I dissagree with this flooding of the area in an attempt to neutralize the urine in the pad. Water claw or no water claw you have probably wet out the wood floor below the pad. Take a hydro sensor and find out how big the wet area is below the carpet before you go adding more water and try to reclean the area? Just applying gallons of chemicals for a quick fix and a quick buck can sometimes backfire.

Just My opinion

What is pad cleaning? Also what should I do about the area that didn`t need cleaning but as soon as I swept over it with the wand it caused a dirty look to the carpet like I was pulling dirt from beneath? Is it because my pressure was too high, or my suction too strong? And should I extract using anymore solutions being that the stain is bigger and now looks brown? I really appreciate all the help.

Spread the tufts open with your fingers. Does the brown go to the base, or is it just on the tips?

How old is the carpet and has it been cleaned by a surface  cleaning system that has buried the real soil deep in the fibers, if so what you are seeing is the real soil being removed by your system, does the carpet feel sticky or any sign of detergent build up in the carpet? these are a few things that cause the problem you are seeing.

Best $200 you will ever spend, or you can continue to spend your money on hit and miss products that are not adressing the problem. You might get lucky sometimes but until you have educted yourself in odor control you are fooling your customers!

Oder is not the problem.....Yes I will take a class when it becomes available.....Im talking about the stain, yellow pet urine stain. Seems to be that the enzyms chemical I`m using isn`t getting the stain out. I wanted to know if there is an all mighty chemical out there that gets the stain and oder out in one shot. Is there one out there?

You will not be successful with every urine stain. Age carpet content & construction and maybe if the pet was on any medication. if the homeowner attempted spot by pouring something on it everything is not completely removalbe without sometimes causing some damage to the carpet. The secret is knowing when to quit before you own the problem?

We at Kleen Kuip sell an enzyme product that if applies properly and given time in many cases removes both odor and gets the yellow out. Although dougs comments are right. Every spot is different and can be difficult.

Another suggestion is our Spray, Walk & Gone. It contains specialty wetting agents with Hydrogen Peroxide. Remember the old TV ads and you  wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent . This is a Hydrogen Peroxide Based Product.

You should also invest in a spotting Water Claw if you want to get close to perfection in this and many other spots.

You are right about the all mighty chemical spot remover.  Our SPRAY WALK & GONE is so close to being the all Mighty that I worry about Wall Mart finding out about it.  If that happens, customers won't need your service or mine.

Ted

I don't have to worry about Wal Mart or any other competition for that matter anymore!

I spent many years trying to figure out and experimenting with urine contamination.

The truth of the matter is that every job is different. Some jobs you may get lucky with your product. Some jobs require different applications. You and I both know that pad replacement is the best solution! Smoke and mirrors is just that a topical treatment.

My point to my previous posts is that education is the best cure to the problem. Do you not offer your customers the best?

I guess some people are just looking for the quick fix and don't care about giving their customers the best as I did and I believe you do!

I retired from this industry a few years back, and my only regret is that I didn't sell sooner.
