I have a very limited budget ( uni student) and need to buy a machine that will do the job for a while til I save up enough to buy a decent machine. Can anyone recommend me a portable that I can buy for under $1200 that would last atleast 30 or so jobs? Any help would be much appreciated :) any helps better than none..

If you start out looking for the cheapest machine and then go to the cheapest chemicals then you will be looking for the cheapest people to clean who have the dirtiest carpets and no money.

It will all come back to bite you in the ass.

The only man who can help you with advice is Nightrider 'The Tide Man' who may just answer you.

If you are in the Toronto area I can help you with a cheap duct tape type unit.

Wishing you good luck and good fortune. Thumbs Up

Look at craigslist, Ebay, etc.  There are used portables available for $1000.  They will last much longer than 30 jobs with proper care.

There is usually a Sandia Sniper on Ebay for around $1200 new.  Don't try to use more than 35 ft of hose and it works.  You'll learn to hate not having auto fill and auto dump.

That said, save a little longer or look HARD for a good used machine.

No one would pay you to use a hoover on their carpet.  I think your blood stain will be handled by a real pro after you leave horizontally.  This chrisktrue@aol.com is anything but a pro just by mentioning it.
Are you in a high paying business or are you just a self employed low paid grunt who thinks this business provides dignity?
