For years now I have read about truckmount owners trying to get more performance out of their units. This has me convinced to never buy a TM.
On one hand they tell you how much better a TM is than the most powerful portable out there. Then the next day they are trying to get more vacuum or more CFM out of their truck.
Maybe these truck guys have too much time on their hands.
Truckmount guy "Oh man times are slow and I can't afford to buy a new pump for my unit...I might lose the house"
Portable Guy "I worked hard all week and I'm tired so I'm hitching up the Lund 2150 (boat) to my F150 King Ranch and heading up to the cottage on Georgian Bay"
notes: Portable guy does not know what CFM stands for and does not care, just wants to keep his happy customers happy and get more happy customers. Portable guy does not care about exploding solution hose, 2.5" vac hose, glides and slides, cat pump this and blower that.
Truckmount guy wants to take his family to the zoo, he puts the wife in his "helpers" seat and the children sit somewhere between the dirty water tank and the pail of Dry Slurry

sounds like alotta bologna
guys are always trying to increase the performance of their porty's as well
ie:heaters,boostes,more vac motors etc.
I really don't mind running a porty but honestly look forward to getting a TM,,so my production times can increase big time I don't have to bust my a$$ carrying a porty up 3 flights of stairs looking for seperate circuits and hooking up garden hoses etc.
just alot less labor using a TM IMO..............but I'll keep the butt kickin porty for high rises and lock up buildings for sure
I think these TM guys just love having superior performance

Nothing wrong with trying to increase performance but those who spend that time actually using their equipment are making more money. I'm just making fun of guys who are obsessed with their equipment. Honestly I work with some portable owners who know nothing about their equipment but make 50x more than me and I'm not broke!
Then I read on ICS some guy with a TM broke down and literally does not have 2 dimes to rub together.... So what's the point?
Ask some Servicemaster franchise owners in the GTA about porty's or TM...they dont know squat but they DO know how to handle a 40 foot power boat LOL

I more than likely have said this before but when I upgrade a customer from a portable to a truckmount his abilities and confidence level come up 400% and it instantly shows in his sales.
On the other hand, if you look at the new Rotovac CFX you will also see many advantages for the guy that wants simplicity and the ability to work out of his car whom is afraid to make that big expensive but rewarding truckmount investment.

I've gotta get out from behind my porty. I work in NYC and can rarely find parking, but a TM is crutial for large commercial jobs. You need high heat and a whole lot of suction. That's the difference between doing 500 square feet vs. 250 square feet per hour of very dirty commercial carpet. It took me 10 hours to complete a 2850 square foot office on Saturday. I had to dump and refill my water tanks at least 10 times. It becomes a nightmare when the carpet is extremely dirty and I get only 150 square feet to 6 gallons of water. If I had a truckmount, I'd use an RX-20 for most of high traffic areas (there was a lot of them) and get through with it in under 5 hours by myself. If you do 2-3 residential jobs per day a porty is fine. But when you exceed 3 jobs per day and start getting those large commercial jobs, the porty has to go. You just cannot give the proper cleaning giving the time alotted to you. It's either the porty that has to go or your reputation...and your back. By the end of this summer I'm getting a TM.

Thats it autofill/dump.. Run a direct hose from the hot water source (kitchen faucet with adapter) to the back of your machine using male/female quick disconnects. The front of your machine will have another diconnect to hook up your wand the usual way.. Now you have continuous water.. Eliminates buying a autofill setup which is alot more and this does the same thing..
I only use this for big areas + my TM) or if my pump goes out on a job..
You also can hookup a heater after the faucet and turn on the HOT water...
HOT! Hot! Hot!....
