I'm seriously considering this model for my first truckmount. I guess it's the new "entry level" from Hydramster, beefier than the old Spitfire but still a step below the 421. I'll keep using the RX-20 and post-bonneting. Does anyone have any knowledge or decent impressions of this newer machine? I'm comparing it to a Prochem Blazer. Alternatively, if we decide to spend more, the Diablo is looking good.

Looks like a good machine to me.  I have always liked the vanguard engines by Briggs.  If you have a Hydramaster distributer near it should be a good deal.  How much do they want for those?  Warranty? Included Extras?

With the hose, reel, soft water, installation, etc, it's about 11k. I don't have hard numbers right now. I'm in San Diego, and we've got at least two Hydramaster distributors and one Prochem distributor.

We've sold quite a few of the 318's and have had good success. We sell Hydramaster and Prochem and compared to the Blazer, the 318 wins hands down. As far as price ($11,700 plus tax) which includes freshwater tank,300 ft. hose, installation. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks, DBraden. I think we've settled on the 318. We tested it out and liked how it performed, using an RX-20 at 200', except that it takes 10-15 minutes for the heater to do its thing. We'll be getting the APO and soft water as well. It's just a question of whether it's one month from now or three.
