Hi, guys
Just found this forum, great to meet you all!
I have many years of residential c/c , however recently I am trying to get into commercial.
Just got an opportunity to give a quote on huge building with very expensive wool wall to wall carpeting. About 50,000 sf . There is need for cleaning it about 3 times a year. Since I don't have too much experience with wool I wonder if there is somebody with some good tips. Also I am not sure how to quote this contract in terms of pricing... Any tips?

Thanks, I am thinking about buffing in with Cimex. I wonder if PH 9.5 is not too high. thanks.

according to the IICRC pro's DO NOT use ph over 8.5. can cause fibre deradation on wool. that's a hell of a lot of carpet to replace if you screw it up. good luck!
happy cleaning

It's probably too late, but yes you can use Releasit on wool. If it is a good commercial low pile wool, regular Cimex pads should be ok, but carefully test it first. If they are too aggressive, then just use the softer brushes.

The PH of 4.5 to 8.5 is just a general guideline for less informed carpet cleaners who may once in awhile clean wool. It really is more complicated than that. A PH of 9.5 can be fine, while a more neutral PH could cause damage.

If in doubt, use only wool approved products. I have used Procyon with great success on wool, the fresh water rinse drops the PH right away.

I can't help being curious.  What kind of building has 50,000 sqft of wool carpet?
