Hi Maria,

I own the Mach 12.  It's a good machine, but it's not a replacement for a TM. It's not versatile enough to replace a TM. It can't do stairs, upholstery or drapes.

It works well on the average job, but I wouldn't use it on trashed carpet because it doesn't move enough water through the carpet to clean anything but carpet that has average soiling. In addition to that, you are pretty much restricted to the chemical line of the manufacturer (or very similar products made by others), so you wouldn't be able to use some of the new products targeted for people who use
oscillating pad machines.  (A Mach 12 is also too big to get corners, but I don't know about the LMX.)

In short, I prefer the machine for interim maintenance scenarios. in those situations it's about as fast and as much a money maker as they claim.  I also use the machine for its outstanding agitation abilities when using an extractor, because even a TM needs agitation assistance when carpet is horribly trashed.

Just a final note: I did recently use a Mach 12 on horribly trashed carpet, because several other machines had broken down on a night that a project absolutely had to be done.  When my guys were finished, the carpet looked fantastic. It looked so good because they went over it 4 or 5 times from several different directions, and still beat the time it would have taken if they had a powerful portable extractor (but the carpet ended up wetter than if they had used a portable or TM). However, a few weeks later the carpet was wicking and attracting dirt very rapidly.

You'll also need a some type of detail machine for certain spots and gum removal.

Hi Guys,

What is the general opinion of the Von Schrader LMX? How does it compare to a truck mount with regard to cleaning and drying etc?

Would love to hear comments especially from those of you out there who use this machine?

Thanks,

Mike
