I have a friend that has four sushi restaurants. He has been renting the carpet cleaning machines from home depot. Its a all in one unit with small tanks so no wand. Its very time consumming to use. The carpet that they have is very thin but gets allot of foot traffic. Could someone suggest a good portable that would be a little easier to use. Im sure a unit with larger tanks and a wand would be faster and easier to use. TIA

He can pretty much pick one and it would be an improvement.

The best thing he could do is run the sushi restaurants and hire out the cleaning to an expert with the proper tools and chemicals.

Actually he used two different professionals in the past. Lets just say they had carpet cleaning companys. They would come in the places after 10:00 pm to clean them but the next morning when they opened at 11:00 am the carpets would still be wet. Not sure what kind of unit they were using. About two months ago they decided to deal with it themselves. They are actually paying more overall than what they were paying the professionals to do because of the labor cost. But the next morning the carpets are always dry now. Just saying

Too bad you are in N.O. I can always use another steady account.  There is no reason to have wet carpet at 11am unless these are huge places and they are finishing about 9 or 10am.

If he buys a bigger stronger portable he will put down more water and will need to take more time to suck it up or he'll be leaving wet carpet.

His restaurant should have loads of hot water available so heat isn't as important for him.

You cannot expect to use toys to get a carpet clean. The Home Depot junk is not suitable. You need to hire a higher level professional company with a new model truckmount. Some may have high level portables that can do the job but you would be rolling the dice on that possibility. Whomever they hired before must have been a beginner. Lots of people get into this business but a large percentage of them are not equipped to provide quality work. Spend the money and get it done correctly.
