The most common question and concern from customers is "how long will it take to dry?"  That explains why a good number  of residential owners are willing to use chemdry even though it's an inferior product.

What if we tried this:  Use an extractor like the Recoil XPS, or somehow soup up your own extractor to get 300 cfm or so.  Then after you clean each room, place the Studebaker Airpath, which can dry a 12x12' area in 15-20 minutes.  You might need 2 (7.5 amps each).  You could have the whole house dry by the time you're done.  How much would people be willing to pay extra for that?  One long time carpet cleaner said he was shocked that 25% of the clients were willing to spend 25% more for this.

Anybody doing this already?  Sounds like a great selling tool, and really giving people what they want.

How much more can you charge for that?  Did a good percentage of your customers choose to have it done?

I have always thought that was a great idea.

It's called Customer saftey & satisfaction.

In fact, when we used to do this with standard box fans, we had placed on the front (middle) of each and every fan, an absorbant cloth that we could saturate with a certain deo. scent.  The air-flow would thus distribute this "fresh" clean scent around and you know the rest of the story.

A very pleased customer!

You may not charge extra, but I'm sure you must be charging a good amount to begin with for such a great total service.

I have offered this service for years. It is called a Power-Dri and the carpets are dry in under 5 minutes after getting cleaned. I charge double for this service as compared to wand cleaning. $1/sq ft Vs .50/sq ft.

About 6% go for this.

It actually only take 2 minutes to completly Dry a 10 ft X 15 ft room Paul. When I quote a 10 minute figure, I am including the time to both CLEAN and DRY it.

TM John. Here in Calgary most places can be reached by TM except high rise and office buildings.

To get the fast dry times however, the RX20 is used that uses positive pressure airflow to dry carpets rapidly.
