I have a Chemtex Panther 15. I've seen how much love you have for them here, but I'm stuck with it for now. I bought it new about 3 years ago and it now has about 250 hours on it. Recently it has started overheating and shutting down minutes after starting the job and it won't start again that day usually. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what do you do about it? I would appreciate any suggestions besides sale or burn it. Thanks

Let it cool down and it should start right up. . Put a fan in the van.. Dont leave the wand laying down too long.. Thats when the water temp really rises and then BOOM! overheat.. shutdown..! Dead

Take a compression test could be valve sticking or valve lash needing adjustment, probably if valve problem exaust valve. Does the motor turn over when this happens. Has the cooling fins ever been cleaned out?

Then motor will turn over but not start for almost a day. The fins have never been cleaned.

As soon as it quits remove the spark plug put your finger over the spark plug hole (make sure the spark plug cable is away from your engine, see if you have any compression or if the engine is just spinning. After you have check valves, check spark its possiable that the electronic module is breaking down check both at the wire end to the plg and also through the plug. Electronic module can cause a delay not normally a day down though. Is there any exaust restrictions in the exaust itself. Next thing to isolate is remove any load from the engine run the engine by itself see if without load it stays running.

A few other things to check.. Fuel low?.. clogged gas line?.. loose gas line clamps?.. Blower or Pump stuck or locked up?.. did you empty the wastetank?.. Battery water level might be low?.. Engine oil low? Engine fuel pump not working or fuel filter clogged.. spark plug fouled or dirty? Ignition has a loose wire.. Engine fuse has blown..
