Lots of my competition told me they dont move furniture for insurance liability reasons when I phone shopped them with my new anonomous phone shopper name "Harry Milfer".  Goss Id love to do traffic areas all day long.  What do you all do on the furniture issue? Charge a lot if they want it moved or tell them you dont move furniture or what.....go with the flow and move as little as possible with the customer? What about the cat fur under the bed issue or the move my sectional and coffee table to carpet clean my rug. ??????????????? Any suggestions would be helpful
I can remove more spots than you can.

I used to move all furniture in the bedrooms for example because the competition was doing it. I no longer do it.

I explain our policy as such " Mam, we clean 100% of the visible carpet in the bedrooms, this includes trimming around the bed, dressers night stands etc. without moving them.I remind you that you will be charged for the entire room as trimming around these items is detail type work and therefore takes more time.

As far as the rest of the house mam , We ask that you have the small furniture items such as end tables and coffee tables, lamps , plants etc,
out of the room giving us space to work. We will move the larger items such as couches and chairs etc. but trim around any furniture that has glassware inside such as curios, china hutches etc. We also trim around
entertainment centers and computer workstations.

Do you have any questions on getting ready for the cleaning ?

Thank you. we'll be there Tuesday at 9:30

I do minor moving if they want it moved they should do it. You break one thing there goes your job and more. If you move too much it turns into a moving job.

you don't get paid enough for that

Don't you hate it when you quote traffic lane only cleaning and when you get there all the furntiture is moved all over to the centre of the room. They think that because it is moved into the centre of the room you will clean where the furniture was and then have to move it back to clean the traffic lanes.

I have had this happen several times so now when I see it I say "I see you changed your mind and want all the furniture moved for a full cleaning. No problem that will only be another 10 cents a square foot.

Customers like that figure they have outsmarted you our they can get something for nothing. Now I don't put up with it. If they get upset - to bad because I don't want them as customers anyway if they object to the up charge.
