I went out to a video store and measured there carpet and it was 3900 sf. So I gave them a bid for $624.00 at .16 a sf. I called them back and they said that is way to high and the last time they had there carpet cleaned It was like $300.00. How long should it take to clean 3900 square feet of carpet ?

If you can do it in about an hour, you belong on the red board. That way you can do it for the same price as the last guy and still make the $300/hr it takes for membership to the club.

Is it 3900 sq ft of carpet or is the store 3900 sq ft and you are only cleaning 75% of the store?  You can make money at .07 cents only in this case I am sure it is late night work plus lots of gum on the carpet. If they are looking for quotes they must not be happy with the $300.00 cleaner.

I would have to agree with Ken (as much as I hate it). Cimex can get you in and out fast.

The question is...DOes he have a Cimex?

A cimex will work but allow 2 hours at least. Cimex = 1500 to 2000 sq ft per hour
