    Posted: 01/April/2007 at 4:51pm
Hello, I am currently working on an art project which involved carpet samples being placed outside for about a week.  The samples aren't going to be glued down or anything.  I was just wondering that in the event of Rain, will the samples be ok?  I can't have them curling up or starting to smell or anything... Will they be able to dry out alright?

thanks for any help.

They will be ok as long as they are not jute backed or rayon or wool.

I don't know what any of those materials are, It looks machine made... Tarps aren't really an option its a public space where people will be walking on them.

If they were carpet samples from a store they were probably nylon backed. Jute backing looks like twine and natural and not very many are made that way. Nylon backing looks like a mesh but plasticy or latex looking. You will probably be ok.
