Jack: Nobody is saying the water remains HOT. But it does lose some of it's kenetic energy and go to a warm state that still evaporates at a faster rate than cold water does, until it's temperature EQUALS the cold water that it is being compared to. How long is that process? It is somewhere between 60 seconds and 600 seconds depending on a whole bunch of factors that I have no intention of getting into here. The important point for you to understand is that most people that read this do not give a sh*t wether that time is 60 seconds OR 600 seconds! It is only an academic argument of merrit to people that have nothing better to talk about, and I am NOT I of them, eh?

This is one of those"You can't see the forest for the trees" types of debates. It stops people from seeing the big picture. The big picture is what is important.BUT, it is a fact that most arguments are not over the big picture stuff, but over a small detail or two. This is true wether it is a case of leaving the top off the toothpaste, or which direction the toilet paper comes off the role. People are funny that way, but I doubt these things will ever change.

Brain is getting soft... wasn't sure how to spell molecules... just like I'm not sure how to spell hydrogen and two oxygen molecules... anyways they are bouncing around even more once the are under pressure....so the rate of evaporation once it hits the carpet will be faster than cold water....the MOLECULES don't just stop moving once they hit the carpet... thats why when you clean you can see vapour steam still comming up off the carpets from up to 60 seconds....that certainly doesn't happen with cold
do you own test...opppss I forgot you don't have a working unit....you got a plate warmer instead...lol
particles molecules ...you knew what I ment..you a$$...lol

It is Jack. But I choose to debate things that are important to me. This isn't. I am not going to spend my time trying to make a point over and over again that I consider I have already made.As you well know, there are people in this world that will call white black, and black white.Nothing I can do about that.

.....STEAMER.......WHAT'S A WATER PARTICLE...............EVERYTHING IS MADE UP OF MOLECULES, WHETHER WATER IS PRESSURIZED OR NOT THE MOLECULES RUN RAMPID. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THAT WHEN IT IS PRESSURIZED TO 280-300 DEGREES OR MORE THE WATER IS CHANGED TO A GAS ( STEAM ) ONCE THE PRESSUREIZED WATER OR STEAM TOUCHES THE COOL SURFACE IT CHANGES BACK TO A LIQUID.
IT'S ALL THE SAME PRINCIPALE OVER & OVER AGAIN..........EVEN AT A CONSTANT BOILING POINT....WATER DOES NOT EVAPORATE INTO THE ATMOSPHERE THAT FAST.
GO MAKE YOURSELF A CUP OF COFFEE PUT 3 CUPS AND SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES TO COMPLETELY EVAPORATE 2 CUPS.

LOL. I am not going to try and tell you anything Jack. You have already made up your mind. I doubt ANYONE can change it once you do.
BTW, I have cleaned at least that many homes(more than 1000/year on avg, over 25 years). But I only checked the temperature on a few dozen of them, just to see how consistant the temperature drop was during the drying .I never felt the need to check more than that. I think the point your missing NR is that it's pressurized hot water..much different from normal plain old hot water...
The water particles have been squeezed into a smaller space...changing it's typical reaction...
the spray that comes out the end of your wand is supercharged...and the particles are moving way faster because it comes out under pressure. so you do get evapouration...but like you said the water temp then drops rapidly..
now if you clean with cold water under pressure...the particles are moving but not as fast...hense no evapouration once the spray hits the carpet...
have you ever notice even if your water is ice cold...it will only come out cold at the wand... the temp goes up because it's pressurized
