Look one up in your area

Ask the owner if the shaft has had any work or anyother major repairs. The hours on the unit are typical of its age but this machine has seen the best part of its life. If a blower goes or problems develop with the CDS count on spending a few thousand on it. For every run hour of the plant it is equivalent to about 30 miles. Ask how often the oil was changed on the van. If he talks in terms of hours or months - that's good if talks in terms of miles be suspicious that he has not changed the oil frequently enough and this translates in to valve issues that this van is about due for. If you buy it set aside some contingency money for a likely major repair in the next couple of years.

I would still rather have a good used truckmount than a portable or a used slide in. At the price he is talking your probably can't get hurt but I would try and get it a little cheaper.

The reality of the price is it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I bet there are no other people considering it. It is an older unit and most people would be looking for at least a new body style unit which is 98 up. Good chance he would take it.
