WD-40 has nothing do with lubing the impellers. If you
think a blower that dose not used for carpet cleaning but for dirt,
dust, ext. you don't have to lube it. Blowers have there own internal
lubing whether oil or grease. A few post back said it right. It is to
coat the impellers with a small coat of oil to prevent rust. Due to
the nature of what we are extracting. I left a truck mount for a month
unused and the impellers rusted together.

Wd40ing the blower has alot less to do with lubing the impellors than it has to do with making sure at the end of the day the blower has no moisture left inside it.This is why they call it WD (W=water D=displacement)and thats why the big truckmount makers say to lube the blower at the end of your work day for at least 5 secs.

I remember in the old days, using a little Vegetable oil sprayed into the inlet. This would coat the internal impellers. never had a problem.
