So im in the process of rebuilding my business and have decided to offer house and office cleaning, all around cleaning, we will do carpets, general cleaning, dryer vent, chimney sweeping, mattress sanitizing, air duct cleaning, pressure washing and more.  We are going green using only environmently friendly cleaning suppys. To my suprise no one here does this. Anyway i have a few questions about cleaning supplys.  What is better Ecogent of DFC for high flow extraction carpet cleaning?  Will be buying either a steamin demon or the Parish high flow machine which appears by all means to be the same machine as steamin demon but a grand cheaper. I think green is the way to go anymore.  I never considered it till i moved into a  house that had the carpets cleaned and have since had a reaction to what ever cleaner was used. You can smell it in the carpets and it took forever for the carpets to dry.  Another reason im wanting to go hight flow for better rinsing of carpets.  Any suggestion would be great, thanks brian.

If I was your customer and I called you to come clean out my dryer vent only...................how much would you charge...........How about just sweeping my chimney.......or 1 queen matress

I think you're headed for a whole lot of headaches, especially if you're a 1 or 2 man show with no where to perform

Dryer vents are $80 and that includes the dryer shell as well, chimney sweeps range from $80 to $160, air duct is $15 per register and $60 for furnace-no set up fee, mattress sterilization is $15 per bed.  We havent come to a pricng on home cleaning and carpet cleaning yet, these services are the new add on's.  Im in a small town, Walla Walla Wa and the pop is 50,000 with surrounding smaller towns.  The wife and I will be doing the work and will hire on 1 if needed though i hope not to have to do so. Chimney Sweeping and air duct cleaning is pretty seasonal work and carpet cleaning slows down in the winter but house and office cleaning are year round.   The major reason for doing this is that i have tried and treid to network here had no one is up for it, no one is in to referals.  Im really suprised at the closed minded attitudes of small business owner here, its like they are worried i will be taking money out of their pockets.  So i figure screw em man i will offer it all at keep it for myself, no more refering a carpet cleaner to my coustomes who refuses to refer me to thiers.

I prefer DFC to ECOgent, and I think pretty much everyone on these forums who's tried both feels the same way. ECOgent foams up a bit, but DFC doesn't at all, and I think DFC works better. Are you extracting into a tank or directly into your customers' waste line--I believe Steamin' Demon uses the latter. Many offices can be bonneted if they get cleaned regularly. You can bonnet with either DFC or ECOgent, although I prefer Xerion for bonneting glue-down commercial carpet. But then, if you're trying to cut down on the amount of equipment you use, you're probably not chomping at the bit to buy a buffer; and, if high-flow is firmly in your mind, bonneting probably has little appeal (they're pretty much opposites). Good luck!

DFC is by far the better product. Ecogent does foam alot and to me it smells like puke.

DFC is a bit salty. It basically tastes like saline.

Next time I puke, I'll save some for a comparison smell test. I never noticed the smell of ECOgent really.
