Why is it that when a man is beat by intellegence he reverts to name calling, or size of the male sex organ. Steamer if I would have a big prick, that would mean I was a good carpet cleaner and know what I'm talking about, if I don't I am stupid, dumb and not capable of cleaning a carpet. That being said would mean that porno star John Holmes and Ron Jeramy should actually be running the world, solving trade issues, feeding the poor, working on global warming etc etc. These are the 2 biggest pricks out there Steamer, and mentally you're number 3 .............now go clean a carpet using your other head that God gave you to think and talk intellegent with. John L, I had 2 Truckmounts at the time........1 I purchased from Ted at KleenKuip. It had a No.68 Blower and I changed the pump to a 3500 psi with 250 gallon fresh & waste tanks. I went with the portables because the last time I used the Truckmounts for the job it took us 2 nights of 7 hour shifts to do the same work. Truckmounts are Great, but way to much Over-rated. Great for small commercial jobs of 4 or 5 thousand sq.feet. Larger commercial jobs 2 or 3 portables would be a better choice. Nightrider

Mr. Steamer- You ain't tried a quality portable. I have no problems with up to 75 foot hose runs and get 4-6 hour dry times, I use a big ol' 3 piston General pump for water spewing, so I get lots of pressure and flow. I set up by a bathroom so filling from a hose and dumping aren't a big task. I also am very quality oriented, investing some time for stain removal and small details as I find that the little things set you above the herd. Meatball or commercial cleaning I can average up to 1000 sf an hour and wrongly assumed you move furniture. How much more is your fuel bill at the end of the day? What about repair and maitanence? What about rising fuel prices? I've operated Cleanco, Steam Genie, Big Red,JEM, White Magic, some homemade and locally manufactured machines. All good tools, but expensive to run and maintain, not to mention a substantial purchase price.I do service a niche market in high rises, but I also have a motto of going where there's dirty carpets, so part of my whack is residential. My customers don't give a fat rat's ass about what I use to achieve a good cleaning, but just are pleased with good results, and pay me well for it. |

Yes, I did have a guy to empty the water, he worked just a hard as the cleaners, he would connect a 75 foot drain hose, pull the lever and it would drain onto the grass & pavement below ( which was hosed off afterwards ) THAT GUY WAS ME,...........NIGHTRIDER, DO YOU THINK I JUST SAT THERE AND ATE PIZZA & BEER, WHILE THEY WORKED THEIR ASS OFF. Steamer, the shift is 7 hours/night/7 days/week general maintenance contract, if they work 2 hours they get paid for 7. The carpet cleaning was an add on 4 times /year. Portables were old 12 gallon junk machines, I only buy old crap and leave it at the customers.2 were 100 psi, 2 were 200 psi/scrub brush. Carpet was not really dirty, few soft drink stains & coffee. This was the dining & breakfast areas. YES it was done in 5 hours/ 4 portables If you can't clean 15,000 sq. ft in 5 hours with 4 truckmounts is because of the downtime to set up, then you're too tired to start work, then you have to prespray, then you have to pick up the wand, then pick your nose a little, take the last puff of your cigarette, then maybe start working. I was running a business, not a playground, my cleaners came to work, and work they did. I treated them good, in return it was no nonsence labour. Other days when it was slow, we goofed off. ALL MY NUMBERS ARE REAL, AND TRUE, OTHERWISE I WOULD NOT HAVE POSTED IT. Nightrider |
