If you want to use a porty, then be prepared to give up some business to homes without power and customers who only want a tm. If you only have a tm, be prepared to give up any business that demands a portable solution. Any single solution will take you out of the game in certain cleaning situations. If you over-think contingencies--if you try to be Mr. Ready-for-Anything--you'll drive yourself nuts. Besides, the longer the hose to your porty, the less recovery. It's not worth the extra equipment and headache of having a generator so you can do mediocre work at a distance.
